I was exploring new ideas for the thin pierced rimmed pieces I have developed when I came up with this idea of cutting away the rim to leave five points like a star. I then tried to increase the delicateness and interest of the piece by carving holes through the remaining rim to create the lacework effect. The wood used was Ash, which I have left in it's natural colour in the centre and on the back of the piece.
The bowl is approximately 290mm / 11.5" diameter. There will be slight colour variations between computers.
