This piece incorporated a variety of turned and carved components to create the overall effect. The main vase form is turned and carved from a log of Sycamore whilst I used Ebony for the contrasting black top and base parts. I used Lime for the snake which was my first attempt at carving and I was very pleased with how it turned out.

I also used fake ivory to add decoration in the form of the white studs since I was aiming to create a very intricate and detailed piece.

The woods used include Sycamore, Ebony, Fake Ivory.

The overall height is approximately 508mm (20")
